Department of Education

Department of Education started in the year 2004 and has completed the tenure of fourteen years. It has excelled by successive progression and with never-ending enhancement qualitatively that gets revealed in the qualitative teacher training programme. There has been extensive enrichment of the teacher-trainees with all the innovative and technological means & methods adopted to make the teaching-learning process more effective. We are marching towards to get established as a training and research center to contribute to the field of educational research.

The Department of Education is performing remarkable work and has proved itself as a milestone in the arena of the research and teacher training programme. We are keen users of latest and modern educational technologies for the multi-dimensional growth of the student teachers. The student-teachers of the college have made tremendous academic achievements in the society with the dynamic, effortless support and co-operation from their teachers. Selected students in various esteemed institutions are bringing name and fame for the department and the college, ever since.

We have separate departmental P.G library specially for M.Ed students. Our Nine (09) teaching faculty are Ph.D. holder and 04 are NET qualified and four (04) faculties are pursuing Ph.D. We have well equipped Psychology Lab. , Curriculum Lab. , Computer Lab and Science Lab. Four (09) teaching staff are Ph.D. holder and 04 staff is NET cleared. Three (04) teaching staff are pursuing Ph.D.

Well established rich central library. The library is made user friendly with the open access system, which enables the readers to access books with ease. In the library the online resources include the availability of Internet connectivity in the library with INFLIBNET N-List programme for faculties and a separate computer laboratory.

B.Ed

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a two-year degree course, which can be pursued only after successfully completing graduation from a recognized University. The course enables the students to opt for a promising career in the field of teaching. Students are imparted practical training (they are assigned the job of trainee teachers in different schools) at the same time, given theoretical knowledge in the field of teaching. For the course, candidates are selected on the basis of performance in Pre-B.Ed. Entrance Test conducted by CG - VYAPAM in the month of May-June followed by allotment of seats as per ONLINE COUNSELLING conducted by CG- SCERT.

M.Ed

Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a two-year degree course, which can be pursued only after successfully completing B.Ed. from a recognised University. The course enables the student to opt a promising carrier in the field of teaching in college( Education Department) .They can do M.Phil.& PhD and can continue as a researcher. Students are imparted practical training(observation of B.Ed trainee), guided for research work in the form of Dissertation at the same time given theoretical knowledge in the field of teaching and research. For the course, candidates are selected on the basis of performance in B.Ed Examination.

D.El.Ed

Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is a two year course which can be pursued only after successfully completing 12th from recognized board. The course enables the students to opt a promising carrier in the teaching field in primary school. for the course candidates are selected on the basis of performance in Pre. D.El.Ed entrance test conducted by CG Vyapam in the month of May-June followed by allotment of seat as per online counselling conducted by CG SCERT.

Objective B.Ed. Understanding of rural environment by the trainees. Understanding the problems prevailing in the village through teaching trainees and making people aware through cultural programs. To develop a sense of sociability among teaching trainees, to organize a program of guidance and counseling.

Program: Nukkad Natak was organized by the B. Ed trainees under voter awareness in village Rampur, as well as the means of earning their livelihood, information about the economic conditions of the family was obtained through the survey.

After this, a rally was taken out to bring awareness against voter awareness, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, drug eradication, many evils, evils and superstitions in the society, in which slogans were raised by the trainees and information was provided to them.

Five days National Workshop on "Tool construction and data analysis" on 13th- 17th December 2010 with the collaboration of Department of Psychology of Pt. R.S.U. Raipur.

Two Days Workshop

A Two Days' Workshop of Handicraft Training was organized by the teacher-trainees of B.Ed. under the joint auspices of Department of Education SSMV and Pidilite Industries Ltd. In the workshop, the participants were infused with the skill art of making sunflower, peacock and

tortoise etc. in artistic and innovative way. In addition, the participants were also got trained to perform glass painting, preparation of Rangoli, painting and different types of shapes and designs in transparency. Head of Pidilite Industries, Mr. Sudeep Jain and Super Teacher, Pidilite, C.G. Region, Mrs. Vinita Gupta Provided training of skills regarding Selection and Combination of appropriate colors and refined the Painting Skills of the participants. The workshop was attended also by faculties of other departments with spirit of curiosity.

Workshop was organized on Bonsai and Book binding.

Department of Education runs "Earn and Learn" Scheme in which B.Ed. trainees make handcrafted articles. Such made articles are sold by organized "Craft Fair" which in turn provides financial Solidity to trainees.

The department organizes Coaching of Spoken English and various competitive exams like National Eligibility Test (NET), State Eligibility Test (SET) etc.

Cultural Activity organized by B.Ed 1st Sem.-Radha Krishnan Group(session-2019-20) on 21st October 2019.

Speech Competion organized by education department on the 150 birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Online Intercollege Essay Competition organized by education department. Event date-15May to 08June 2020. Twenty six students from more than 10 colleges of Durg and Bhilai participated in this event.E-certificate is given to all the participant and also to the winner of the event.

Fourteen days Wall Painting Certificate Training Programme in Collaboration with Indra Kala VishwaVidyalaya,Khairagarh was organized by department of Education,ShriShankaracharyaMahavidyalaya,Junwani,Bhilai.Wall painting training was given by Dr.VikasChandra (IndraKalaVishwaVidyalaya,Khairagarh) and Kamal Kishore from Himankshi Construction.

WORKSHOP ON CAREER COUNSELLING-"SAFLTA APNI MUTHI MAI" Department of education organized workshop on 29th September 2019.Resourse person of the workshop was Mr. Aakash Chibbar.He advised student to improve their pesonality bytheir outfit ,body language and good communication skill tosucceed in any field of life.

GUEST LECTURE Guest lecture was organized by Department of education on 22 November 2019.The resurce person of the lecture was Mr.ArunKumarSrivastava ,chairperson of Shri Chaturbhuj Foundation.He delivered lecture on "Use of Social Media".81 student and 12 teacher attended the lecture and get benefited.

WORKSHOP ON PhD SYNOPSIS PREPARATION Department of Education organized workshop from 3/5 21 to 5/5 2021.35 student participated in this workshop and get benefited.
