Department of Computer Science

The department of Computer science was established in the year 1997 and is now recognized as one of the leading departments with infrastructure and facilities to match the very best state. The department remains committed to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and problem solving skills in computer science required for a fulfilling career and to create and disseminate knowledge to improve Computer science research, education and practice.

The department focuses on empowering students with competencies in theoretical, programming, communication, team work, organization and management skills. It also strives to shape outstanding computer professionals with ethical and human values to reshape nation's destiny. The training imparted aims to prepare young minds for the challenging opportunities in the IT industry with a global awareness rooted in the Indian soil, nourished and supported by experts in the field.

About the programme

Bachelor of Computer Application
This programme was started in July, 1997 with a view to produce high quality information system professionals. The students of the BCA programme undergo intensive theoretical and practical training in various aspects of Computer Science and Information System development.
Duration Three years
Intake 60
Eligibility
  • A bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in Science subject.
  • at least 50% marks in aggregate or in the major subject of the qualifying examination
  • having passed in Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level.
Admission Procedure The selection for admission to the programme will be based on an All India level Open Entrance Test to be conducted by the College. The questions will be multiple choice type. The test is of two hours duration and consists of three components

M.Sc (Computer Science)

About the programme

Master of Computer Science
This programme was started in July, 2000 with a view to produce high quality information system professionals. The students of the M.Sc programme undergo intensive theoretical and practical training in various aspects of Computer Science and Information System development.

Eligibility
  • A bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in Science subject
  • having passed in Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level.
